COVENTRY, Conn. — A funeral home director and owner in Connecticut who lost his embalmers license after being arrested earlier this year faces new charges in Coventry.

Philip Pietras, of Enfield, was arrested by Coventry police on Wednesday, according to a release from the department.

He is charged in Coventry with 22 counts of selling a funeral service contract with intent to defraud, 11 counts of second-degree larceny by embezzlement and one count of second-degree forgery.

Coventry police said that they discovered 19 cases involving 22 victims. The reported total loss amounted to more than $165,000.
