MT CARMEL, Pa. — Mommy and Me Rescue in Mt. Carmel has been at its East Fifth Street location since 2017. Founder Carol Kalinowski and her volunteers got some unsettling news last Thursday. She says their landlord informed them he is selling the building and they need to be out by the end of February. Kalinowski says this news was devastating and has been very emotional.
"This is our first public rescue building, and it's kind of like home. Everybody knows we're here, and they come see us here, and having to leave is kind of devastating," said Carol Kalinowski, Mommy and Me Rescue Founder and President.
The rescue is worried about the future and whether or not they can find a place. Kalinowski says they adopt out about 200 dogs a year, but they take in between 250 and 350 dogs. She says
