GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a double death investigation Wednesday morning.

Officials said they received a call around 8 a.m. regarding two elderly people, a husband and wife, dead in the front yard of a residence located on North Wingate Road.

Both people sustained what is believed to be at least one gunshot wound, and a firearm was located on the scene.

The coroner identified the victims as Webster Stanley Jones and Catherine Knight Jones, who were both 84.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said this appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public at this time. The manner of death is still under investigation.
