Don’t expect Chrystia Freeland to be the last cabinet minister or MP to leave Ottawa for greener pastures. In fact, on Wednesday, the day after Freeland’s departure to take up a new role related to Ukraine was announced, three other Carney MPs were said to be eyeing the exit door.

Rumours that Chrystia Freeland wanted to leave electoral politics for a diplomatic appointment have been around for quite some time. In fact, before she announced her resignation from cabinet as finance minister, there had long been chatter that Freeland wanted a new role.

Now the talk is that Bill Blair, Jonathan Wilkinson and Steven Guilbeault want to leave and are hoping for appointments.
