COVENTRY, CT (WFSB) - Coventry police arrested a funeral home director who was accused of stealing prepaid funeral funds from clients.

Philip Pietras, 51, from Enfield, was arrested again on Wednesday.

Channel 3’s I-Team has been following this investigation since it began.

Pietras was originally arrested by state police back in April.

He allegedly stole more than $165,000 from 22 clients who had entered into prepaid funeral contracts with the Coventry-Pietras Funeral Home.

State police said Pietras used the money to gamble and take vacations.

He posted a $150,000 court bond and an additional $160,000 non-surety bond.

He was scheduled to appear in court on September 30.
