BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — One woman's dream of a better life turned into opportunities for hundreds of others. From a single mom to a school founder- she's helping families change their futures in Bridgeport.

On the wall at Glam by Gorgeous Beauty Academy, you'll find dozens of photos on a 'success wall' showing just a fraction of the students who've came through the school. Some of them were single moms, some of them were young parents, some of them were pregnant, working multiple jobs, or just juggling other big responsibilities.

They were all mentored and encouraged by the owner, Marlene Correa, who had two young children herself when she moved here from Mexico, and started her business as a single mom, about 10 years ago.
