Two pedestrians have been hit by cars on the University of Maine campus in Orono within the past two weeks.
A UMaine student was hit in the intersection of Sebago Road and Grove Street by a car driven by a university employee on Tuesday, according to David Nordman, executive director of communications.
The student was hospitalized and was “alert and being treated for injuries,” Nordman said.
UMaine police have not named the student but did say their parents have been notified.
UMaine police are investigating the crash, Nordman said.
Another pedestrian was hit by a car on campus on Sept. 9, according to Marcus Wolf, director of news and media relations at UMaine.
A university employee was hit while walking on campus by a student driving a car.
The employee was taken to the hospital a
