MADISON (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin football team will play its 2031 season opener against Virginia Tech in a location that's different than the one that was originally planned.

The game was originally scheduled to be played on Sept. 12, 2031 in Blacksburg, Virginia. It has since been moved to August 30, 2031 at a neutral site -- Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The game will be called the Duke's Mayo Classic. The Badgers last played in Charlotte in the 2020 Duke's Mayo Bowl, where they defeated Wake Forest 42-28.

Wisconsin has never played Virginia Tech.

The teams are also scheduled to meet in 2032 at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.
