LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Tuesday, FCPS Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins testified before the Interim Joint Committee on Education.
He updated the committee on the district’s budget and took questions. However, he said the ongoing internal investigation limited what he could say about how the district came to be in its current financial position.
“We’re talking about public tax dollars, the public trust, a large budget,” said Representative Chad Aull, D-Lexington. “When you put everything that’s happened all together in the last six to seven months in this process, it is really shaken the community’s trust in the entire process.”
