KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) - Kingsport Planning Manager Ken Weems provided an update on the progress of the city's comprehensive plan after months of receiving public input.

The goal of the Kingsport Comprehensive Plan is to help the city have a vision for the future when it comes to policy or decision-making.

"We found that the virtual workshop we had online, as well as the pop-up events that we've had, have really turned out quite a bit of good public feedback," Weems said.

Weems said the city is continuing to look for public input on the new comprehensive plan.

"The last land use plan that we had that's a major portion of this comprehensive plan was done back in 2010," Weems said. "And so, we desperately needed to update it."
