SHARON, Pa. (WKBN) - Roughly six months after it reopened, administrators with Sharon Regional Medical Center say they are continuing to expand services.
The hospital opened under new ownership in March, after executives with Tenor Health Foundation took over from Steward Health. Since then, administrators have been working to increase patient census and provide service so residents would not need to go out of town for their healthcare.
"Our emergency room has been pretty busy. We are seeing about 1,250-1,300 patients a month. We used to see about 2,000, so we are on the rise there. We are also working on programs to start that we don't have to transfer people out of the hospital for service," said Casey Fatch, CEO of Sharon Regional Medical Center.
