September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and a McMinn County student found a special way to honor his brother, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2023.
Jack Goodin shared with Local 3 what the past two years have looked like and how the brothers are helping other children facing similar battles.
In April of 2023, Sam Goodin, who was a freshman at Wesleyan University at the time, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of childhood cancer called Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT).
It's a type of cancer that has only been recognized for the past 35 years, with fewer than 200 cases diagnosed, making it one of the rarest forms in existence.
