Orioles broadcaster Brian Roberts received backlash after a comment he made about Canadian fans during Friday’s Baltimore-Toronto game.

In the eighth inning of the Orioles’ 6-1 loss, fans at Rogers Centre booed a pickoff attempt from Baltimore pitcher Shawn Dubin.

Play-by-play announcer Kevin Brown began discussing why fans boo pickoff attempts, to which Roberts responded: “Sometimes we have some major questions about the baseball IQ of some Canadians here and there. At times, it felt like maybe they enjoyed, or they knew more about hockey than baseball.”
