ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)---This November, voters statewide will have to answer a ballot proposal about land in the Adirondack Park. The park is protected under the New York State constitution.

On the back of the ballot, voters will be tasked with deciding if the Mount Van Hoevenberg Olympic Sports Complex in Essex County can expand into the Adirondack Forest Preserve.

It was originally built almost a century ago on leased town land. John Sheehan, Director of Communications for the Adirondack Council, said over the decades the complex expanded into the preserve without voter approval.
