LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the Little Rock Zoo announced in a Facebook post on Wednesday that its “Beloved Boer Goat, Bravo,” has died.

Officials continued that Bravo had been having trouble standing, which ultimately required hospitalization. Despite the care level, his condition did not improve, officials posted.

The post continued that due to his difficulty standing and no improvement that would provide a healthy quality of life, “a humane euthanization was the best option.”

They did acknowledge in the post that a Boer goat has a typical lifespan of eight to 12 years, and Bravo reached nine-and-a-half years.

Bravo will be remembered as a goat who was friendly, curious and as willing to eat a treat as he was a shirt sleeve, officials said.
