Two people were badly injured after their car crashed into a train in Hainesport, Burlington County, New Jersey, on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, a witness confirmed to NBC10.

A man who lives near the crash -- which occurred near the 1900 block of Marne Highway -- said he heard the train, which is used to maintain the railroad tracks, honking its horn and saw the lights flashing before the crash.

The man said he ran over to the car after the collision and said he found an elderly couple badly injured. They have both been taken to the hospital and their conditions are unknown.

The car was also heavily damaged in the crash.
