BOSTON —

The Boston Bruins season ended in heartbreak last year, leaving players and fans disappointed, but team leadership says things will get better as the team kicked off its training camp Wednesday.

New head coach Marco Sturm said he hopes to return the Bruins to greatness.

"There was a reason the Boston Bruins were elite for the past few decades, and me coming in, I'm not going to change everything," he said.

While there was no official practice Wednesday, Bruins leadership said that veterans and young players will all be fighting for their place on the team.
