"Are we out of the woods yet?" Not quite.

Fans of Amazon Prime Video's hit show "The Summer I Turned Pretty" may have said goodbye to the most talked-about love triangle of the moment when its finale aired Wednesday, Sept. 17, but the story isn't over.

Shortly after the episode dropped, the streamer took to Instagram to make a surprise announcement: "The Summer I Turned Pretty" series is getting the feature film treatment. On social media, the Amazon show's account shared a photo of stars Christopher Briney and Lola Tung posing on the red carpet, receiving a major reaction from fans.

Beyond the movie announcement, though, fans were also reacting to the series finale's use of Taylor Swift songs. The finale leaned into the pop star's music, and Swifties flooded social media with their reactions over the two songs used, which included "Dress" from the album "Reputation" and "Out of the Woods (Taylor's Version)" from "1989."

On X, social media user @glamghoull said: "Them using Taylor swift's DRESS in the final episode of the summer I turned pretty during that scene omgggggg no like y'all don't even understand, this is everything to me!!!!"

Another user, @badbIoodbarbie, added: "watching the last episode of the summer i turned pretty, at work. and i'd just like to say that dress was the most iconic choice of song they could pick, nice work to everyone involved."

Since the show's 2022 debut, Jenny Han's coming-of-age adaptation has been synonymous with Swift's music. The author penned a letter to Swift requesting to use "The Way I Loved You." Since that first yes, Han has woven a collection of songs into the show's soundtrack: "False God," "Last Kiss," "Invisible String," "Sweet Nothing," "Delicate," "Snow on the Beach," "Red (Taylor's Version)," "Daylight" and "You're Losing Me."

In August, Han told USA TODAY she wrote the trilogy books while listening to the original "Fearless" album and credits Swift's catalog as a storytelling tool. "I have long been a fan," Han said. "Her music, for me as a writer, would help me emotionally tap into something quicker. I'm always listening to music when I write."

Swift's team has given the show rare access to her discography. "Her team is awesome," Han said. "We've been so lucky to have her music on the show every season. To me, that's the biggest gift of all. It's a gift to me as a fan, but it's also a gift to the original book readers and all the people who are fans of the show."

Han doesn't just serve as the author of the books the popular series is based on — she has been a constant presence on set as showrunner and executive producer, and even directed Season 3, Episode 5. "It was a very special episode for me," she said.
