FARGO — Fargo police say they are not investigating what led up to and who is responsible for what appears to be an abandoned boat found in the Red River on Wednesday morning, Sept. 17.

At 7:49 a.m., police received a call for a capsized boat, officials said. When fire crews arrived, they found the boat wedged against the pedestrian bridge near Dike East Park.

The operations manager for the towing company used to pull the boat out said it looks like someone purposely dumped it.

He pointed out the boat had its registration removed, decals ripped off, and the plug found at the back of the boat was missing.

Police said the boat appears to have been in the water for a significant amount of time.
