A new Indian and Nepali restaurant is coming to Helena, owned by relatives Sunil Khavaa and Sajan Boniya.

Why Helena?

“Because our food is the best in the world,” Boniya said. “A capital city needs us."

Everest Indian Cuisine will be at 1001 Euclid Ave., where Early Bird Cafe used to be.

Boniya grew up in Nepal, training in Indian cuisine with a goal to open restaurants. He never dreamed of doing anything else, Boniya said.

He moved to the United States in 2015, one year after Khavaa’s 2014 arrival. Boniya studied hotel management in 2018.

As he set out to open restaurants, he looked for places “in need” of Nepali and Indian food, like Wyoming and Nebraska. From there, the 28-year-old invited trusted family members to take the helm.
