KILLEEN, Texas — A Killeen City employee is in the running for a prestigious state recognition.

The Texas Municipal Clerks Association (TMCA) has announced that Killeen City Secretary Laura Calcote has been nominated for the 2025 Texas Municipal Clerk of the Year Award.

The association says the award "recognizes individuals who exemplify outstanding service to their communities and fellow clerks statewide."

The TMCA said Calcote has "consistently exhibited the core values of TMCA with remarkable passion and integrity" throughout her career.
