TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (TRIBUNE) — Magnolia Elementary went into brief Secure Perimeter status on Wednesday morning after the Trussville Police Department received a report of a suspicious person near the Chevron on Mary Taylor Road.
Trussville City School Superintendent Patrick Martin said he was notified of a suspicious person by TPD at about 8:15 a.m. Trussville Police, he said, responded immediately and secured the school.
“The Trussville Police Department contacted us regarding a suspicious person in the Highway 11 area,” Martin said. “He never got within close proximity to the school, but we placed Magnolia in Secure Perimeter status out of an abundance of caution. We appreciate Trussville Police responding quickly and assuring the safety of our students.”
