LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) has announced that a shot clock will be implemented for boys and girls varsity games. This long-discussed addition to high school basketball in the state of Kentucky, will come to fruition during the 2027-28 season.
The KHSAA Board of Controls, which consists of 18 members, voted on implementing this change earlier Wednesday afternoon. The board voted in favor of a shot clock being introduced into varsity games, by a vote of 13-5.
