FREDERICKSBURG, Texas — A routine traffic stop in Gillespie County led deputies to uncover a stash of illegal drugs, a handgun and drug paraphernalia — and now an 18-year-old is facing multiple felony charges.

Gillespie County Sheriff Chris Ayala said the suspect, identified as Logan Duecker, was stopped for speeding along South Highway 87 at Whispering Oaks Drive. During the stop, deputies reported a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

“Unfortunately, the narcotics out there this individual possessed are winding up in the hands of our younger folks," Ayala said. "So we’re trying to keep that from happening.”
