FINGER LAKES REGION, N.Y. (WENY) -- Fall is in just five days from now, but the weather isn't exactly very fall-like, allowing more time to enjoy the natural features found throughout many New York State Parks.

Monday, September 22nd is the first day of Fall but temperatures are forecast to reach the low 80s, this extended period of dry and calm weather will keep it feeling like summer as parks make their seasonal transitions.

NYS Parks encourages anybody interested to visit any of the many state parks as summer turns to fall. Foliage reports suggest that leaves are beginning to change in most areas of the state north of Fishkill in the Hudson Valley, with select locations in the Adirondacks and Catskills nearing the mid-point this weekend.
