Two Major League Soccer clubs from opposite ends of the country meet for a spot in the 2025 U.S. Open Cup championship match, as Minnesota United plays host to Austin FC.

Like the FA Cup in the United Kingdom, the U.S. Open is a national competition featuring various levels of clubs from around the country. From Major League Soccer down to the United Soccer League, all clubs are welcome to fight it out for a spot at national glory.

Minnesota is closing in on its first semifinal berth in the tournament since they lost to Atlanta United in the final six years ago. They have managed to work their way through the first few rounds of their tournament, having to beat USL Championship side Louisville City and MLS side St. Louis Cit
