Auburn police continued their search Wednesday for a man who has been missing since last week.
Police warned residents to avoid areas in town with a large police presence as they searched for Darren Cyr, 58, of Auburn, who was last seen Sept. 12, according to a Facebook post .
Detectives temporarily suspended the search Tuesday evening after looking for Cyr earlier that day near Mill Street and the surrounding area, police said on Facebook . Police asked the public not to attempt to search on their own but said that they had deployed K9 units, drones, and a State Police helicopter for assistance.
Police also shared that they had seen several false reports stating that Cyr had been found but confirmed that the search is still ongoing.
