YAKIMA, Wash. – Dr. Richard Wilkinson, a medical clinic owner in Yakima, has had his medical license suspension upheld. This decision came after his use of ivermectin on COVID-19 patients and his posts about COVID on his online blog led to the original suspension in 2023.

In 2023, Dr. Wilkinson appealed the suspension. This week, a judge ruled to uphold the punishment for what was deemed negligent care to patients. However, the judge also protected Dr. Wilkinson's First Amendment rights concerning his blog posts.

The judge encouraged the Washington Medical Commission to revoke any sanctions imposed on Dr. Wilkinson for comments made on his blog.
