Superintendents said Wednesday they’ve had to spend some time this school year reassuring families who are worried about immigration raids in schools.
“Our schools are still receiving phone calls from families, so it's our responsibility to communicate with families what our plan is,” Steven Rioux, president of the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents, said during a news conference at the Sports and Medicine Sciences Academy in Hartford.

Rioux, joined by Gov. Ned Lamont and other area superintendents, said they’re response has been focused on two things: advice on how to prepare, and school policies in preparation for an arrival of Immigration and Customers Enforcement Agents.
