RYE, Texas — A little girl nabbed a big alligator while hunting with family members in Rye, Texas, about 70 miles northeast of Houston.

Eleven-year-old Jocelyn Roberts was hunting on a private ranch owned by a family friend, they told the Bluebonnet News.

Her dad, Trey Roberts, was allotted two hunting tags for alligator season, so he decided to take Jocelyn and her 15-year-old brother.

While scouting the area near a lake that connects to the Trinity River, they spotted large drag marks in the mud that led into the water. It was a clear sign that large alligators were in the area.
