DULUTH, Minn.– Birders were ready with binoculars, cameras and counters, because right now, fall hawk migration is in full swing.
Every fall, guests flock near and far to visit the cliffside birding site.
Today specifically, counters kept busy with bald eagles, sharp shinned hawks, and broad winged hawks.
This year, Hawk Ridge broke the state record with daily bluejay sightings.
Last week, seeing 15,000 in one day. Normally, it’s around 1,000.
The Education Director said Hawk Ridge is a hidden gem for Duluth.
