An arrest has been made after two women and a man were fatally shot in South San Jose, a police source with direct knowledge of the case told NBC Bay Area on Wednesday.

Mayor Matt Mahan said one of the victims was a city employee in the housing department.

“It’s heartbreaking,” Mahan said.

Police early Tuesday morning found a woman shot outside of a home on Chynoweth Avenue. Officers then found two more victims, another woman and man, inside a nearby home.

One of the victims has been identified as 26-year-old Tarrah Lynn Taylor of San Jose, officials said. The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the other victims.

San Jose police Chief Paul Joseph on Wednesday declined to offer any details about the case.
