SANDOVAL COUNTY, N.M. —

Flooding in New Mexico on Tuesday evening halted the Rail Runner Express between San Felipe Pueblo and Bernalillo, causing delays for passengers. Mike Recker is a frequent train rider. He experienced a four-hour delay before reaching his stop.

Rail Runner Express officials called in several buses to assist passengers in navigating the blocked tracks.

Augusta Meyers, Communications Manager for the New Mexico Rail Runner Express, said, "The water was so high, it actually breached the 25-foot berm and caused a washout of sorts. It stopped our train literally in its tracks."

Meyers added that passengers were notified of delays ahead of time and as the situation unfolded.
