VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Tuesday's coastal storm is heading north now, but parts of Hampton Roads are still dealing with power outages and flooding.
The coastal low left its mark on Virginia Beach, slamming neighborhoods with up to 7 inches of water.
It was a burdensome morning for some Virginia Beach residents as portions of South Independence Boulevard between Salem and Princess Anne Roads were still impacted by high floodwaters. On Wednesday afternoon, 13News Now saw several cars, trucks and even school buses take extra precautions through standing water.
Virginia Beach officials said Tuesday's storm brought more rainfall than expected, especially in low-lying areas.
Several public works crews were seen clearing flooded areas across South Independence Boulevard. Residents off Rainbow D
