STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — One of the most famous coffee shops of all time is becoming a permanent fixture in Times Square.

The twist? It’s technically fictional.

Central Perk, the setting for dozens of “Friends” episodes, will be a long-lasting addition to New York City’s iconic centerpiece come “’late fall’ 2025,” according to the Gothamist .

Unlike its pop-up counterparts scattered across the world, this Central Perk will be a real-deal café that New Yorkers can indulge coffee and daydreams in.

This is the second permanent brick-and-mortar Central Perk to grace the nation after Boston opened its Central Perk back in 2024, the Gothamist said .
