Demopolis police arrest suspected drug dealer

Demopolis police arrest a suspected drug dealer — and take a significant amount of illegal drugs off the street.

Chief Rex Flowers says 31 year old Demarcus Wheeler is facing several drug charges — including drug trafficking — possession of dangerous drugs — and possession with intent to sell.

Flowers says officers responded to a call from a woman — who said someone was trying to kick in her door.

He says officers intercepted Wheeler leaving — and upon further investigation — they found a large amount of meth — cocaine and other drugs in his car.

Wheeler is being held in the Marengo County Jail.
