WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. — A semi crash forced officials to temporarily close a portion of Interstate 70 in Wayne County Wednesday night.

According to a notification from the Indiana Department of Transportation, a jackknifed semi was involved in the crash in some capacity. All lanes of Interstate 70 eastbound were shut down at mile marker 149 near Richmond sometime before 8:08 p.m., though it is unclear exactly when the crash occurred. Officials also closed a ramp connecting U.S. Highway 35 to I-70 to allow investigators to examine the crash scene.

INDOT's notification indicates that the Wayne County Sheriff's Office is the agency investigating the crash. As of 8:20 p.m., it is unclear exactly how long deputies will keep I-70 eastbound closed.
