KEITHVILLE, La. (KSLA) - The mother of a young child has been arrested for her alleged role in the sexual assault of the child.

On Wednesday, Sept. 17, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Shea Upshaw, 31, the mother of the 6-year-old victim. The mother’s boyfriend, Lucas Logan, also 31 , was arrested back on Aug. 2.

Officials say during the investigation, Upshaw was interviewed multiple times. The sheriff’s office says she reportedly confessed to previously lying to officials to protect Logan. Upshaw reportedly admitted to cleaning up and removing evidence related to the reported sexual assault of her child.

An arrest warrant for Upshaw was issued Sept. 10, charging her with accessory after the fact and obstruction of justice. She was arrested Sept. 17 in Bossier
