LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Thousands of arborists across the country are giving back by volunteering their time and equipment to spruce up national cemeteries.
Without hesitation, Mike Bowlds clipped in and climbed up a tree. Bowlds has 20 years of experience in the tree service industry.
“We definitely want to take care and give back to the community,” Bowlds said.
Shannon Arnold was his spotter on the ground while Bowlds raised tree canopies and pruned limbs.
They are working on hallowed ground, Zachary Taylor National Cemetery and the final resting place of more than 14,000 U.S. veterans.
Saluting Branches is a national day of service, where tree service professionals volunteer their expertise and equipment to maintain properties dedicated to veterans.
