Three Philadelphia correctional officers and their former supervisor were charged after an inmate was allegedly beaten to the point that he needed emergency surgery while naked, prosecutors said on Wednesday.
The incident allegedly occurred on Oct. 6, 2020, after an inmate was taken into a holding room for apparently wearing the wrong color jumpsuit, prosecutors say.

The officers took the inmate from the holding room to his cell, where they had him strip naked and then punched, kicked and assaulted the inmate multiple times, knocking him to the ground, prosecutors allege.
The inmate suffered injuries to his face, ribs and scrotum, and also needed emergency surgery, prosecutors said.
