A jury determined the 2021 death of an inmate in the Gallatin County Detention Center did not have criminal causes.

Jennifer Himmelspach died at Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center on July 21, 2021, after she lost consciousness in the Gallatin County Detention Center. Gallatin County Attorney Audrey Cromwell held an inquest into Himmelspach’s death Wednesday to examine cause of death.

According to a news release, the inquest determined Himmelspach’s cause of death was accidental acute methamphetamine intoxication.
