EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A Lakeside teacher threatened students and is now out of a job, according to the Columbia County School District.

Authorities identified the teacher as Jerry Meitin and said he was booked in the Columbia County Detention Center on a charge of terroristic threats.

His bond is $5,100.

The Columbia County School District police are handling the ongoing investigation.

Principal Juliet King told parents about the incident in a letter Wednesday.
