NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - The evening began with a presentation on the proposed Comprehensive Plan, which outlines development priorities, community engagement, and funding strategies for the years ahead. Mayor David Hanson called the plan a valuable tool.

“I think it’s a good plan, because these guys are going to be able to harvest the funds that we wouldn’t normally be able to find,” Hanson said, noting the draft could also help revitalize the village’s historic district.

Council also discussed speeding concerns in the community. The use of speed cameras remains under review by the Trumbull County Board of Elections, with officials emphasizing that residents should have a voice in the process. At-Large Council Member Julie Stimpert said she respects the community’s input.
