The New York Mets have set a new MLB record, and it's not necessarily one you set out to break.

On Wednesday night, Dom Hamel made his MLB debut for the Mets, and in the process, he became the 46th pitcher to appear in a game for the Mets this season.

No major league team has ever had more than the 46 pitchers New York has used this season.
