CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A prayer vigil and memorial planned on the West Virginia Capitol steps on Thursday is open to anyone wanting to honor the life of Charlie Kirk.
Capt. Jamie Harris, the Commander of Special Operations for the West Virginia State Police, said preparing for the event started with collaboration from Capitol Police, local law enforcement and the DNR.

Harris said there will be plenty of manpower to ensure everyone’s safety during the event, and he wants to remind visitors that weapons are prohibited on Capitol grounds.
