A harrowing report has revealed a girl died after years of sexual abuse at the hands of her foster carer. Known only as 'Marie', the report explains how she was placed with a foster family as a child and endured years of being abused by a man appointed to care for her.

Marie bravely came forward when she was a teenager and still living with her abuser. He was later found guilty of abusing multiple children and jailed.

Marie was awarded a large sum of money after suing Warwickshire County Council, but the damage was already done, and Marie's life spiralled out of control due to her mental health. She died just after her 19th birthday.
