NEW HAVEN – Wins have been hard to come by for New Haven this soccer season. But a big one happened Wednesday.
The Rockets sprung an upset on co-league leader St. Clair Shores Lake Shore with a 3-2 win in MAC Gold Division play.
Trailing 2-0 at the half, New Haven scored three goals in the final 20 minutes to record the win. Christopher Wiles scored all three goals in that span to lead the attack and complete the comeback. Sincere Young, Drew Zendt and Jamari Harmon picked up single assists for the Rockets (2-4-1, 1-2-1).
Pete Tobia made six saves in eight chances for New Haven.
Lake Shore slipped to 6-3-4 overall and 3-1-1 in league play.
