Pittsburgh Steelers guard Max Scharping suffered a knee injury during Wednesday’s practice that is feared to be significant, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Scharping was limited in practice, but it was unclear if it was a previous injury or something new. Now, he will undergo an MRI to see the extent of the injury, but he is expected to be out for a significant period of time.
Scharping has not played in any games just yet, The Steelers have 10 offensive linemen rostered, and Scharping is one of their gameday inactives.
Scharping joined the Steelers in October 2024 after injuries rackED up along the offensive line. The big appeal for his depth status is that he can play anywhere for the Steelers, making him a valuable piece.
