FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — SMU and TCU are about to play the final scheduled football game in a series that dates back to 1915 and has continued since the end of the Southwest Conference. In the 30 years since the final SWC season, no teams from that league have met more often as nonconference opponents than the Mustangs and Horned Frogs. They initially stayed together and met for five seasons in the WAC, but Saturday will be their 104th meeting overall. It will be the 23rd game since going separate ways. The only years they didn't play was in 2006 and the coronavirus-impacted 2020 season.
