COLUMBUS, Ohio — Kyler Murray wasted no time making himself known in the NFL. In his first game, the former No. 1 overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals threw for 308 yards with two touchdowns.
He led the Cardinals to 27 points against the Lions. On the opposing sideline was Matt Patricia , the former Detroit head coach who’s now in his first year as Ohio State football’s defensive coordinator.
Patricia got a first-hand look at what would develop into a Pro Bowl career for Murray, and he’s expecting to see some of those same traits in Demond Williams Jr. when Ohio State returns from its open date to face Washington next week.
“He’s very much a little bit like Kyler Murray,” Patricia said.
